Anyone else snowed in?

Here are some of our drifts. I'm in the valley somewhere roughly between Fallenrose and Pearlsasinger!

We can't get out of our front (well we could if we did some serious digging!) but thankfully the back is better.

Here is outside the house...

Here is the lane we take our cars to, in the hope of it not getting as bad as our lane...

And here are the only members of the family enjoying the "labrador-like" conditions...

Having just seen some snow-drift pics here, and in the media, I think I might retract my earlier complaint about the horrible hot wind we've had today. Not sure how I'd cope with digging through snow to get to the stables

We consider snow to be a delicious sort of novelty,as we do get a sprinkling in some areas here if we have a particularly harsh winter; just enough to cause excitement.

I do feel for those who get stuck on the roads and battle to get to their horses though, and anyone else who is not sitting in front of a cosy fire right now.

Yep! Her in lovely Sheffield we have loads!
Alot of snow yesterday and now snow 3foot up the door and at least a foot and half deep where it hasnt drifted.
Cat got a shock when I opened the door for her this morning! No chance of anybody getting off our lane in a car and the main road is closed.
I have been so bored all day!

This is what our yard looked like this morning, it got worse as the day went on

and we have the most bizzare snow sculpture by the kitchen door!

So yes I am somewhat fed up of the blinking stuff and we have no way off the hill at the moment.

I HATE HATE HATE snow. My OH on the other half loves it....until last night when we got stuck for 2 hours in a drift!!! We eventually managed to dig our way out and went an alternative route home. Problem is, we live on a hill so all roads were awful. On the route we evetually manager to get home on, we had to two 2 cars off sheet ice before we could get past (thank God for Landrovers!!!!)

Here is a video of one of the roads from my house en route to the yard....

Horrendous snow here in south shropshire - well and truley snowed in, cant get down the track - we live on a farm and down to the chalet theres a long lane which runs alongside a field. No way of getting the car out! luckily horses are a 10 min walk away so still being able to walk to them. Ran out of milk today too, shops are a good 10 mins drive or a 1hr walk away!

Hope you can make progress once you are out, local radio seems to be saying all roads to Buxton still blocked in more than one place!

We have abandoned idea of driving through peak district to visit son in Matlock today!

Yep all main routes to buxton still closed, main roads in the town.are ok if you can get in :) drifts are amazing, never seen them this big! Heres hoping can get out soon though, starting to feel rather isolated

Quite badly!! I had to try and get to work yesterday and it took hours to dig my car out and try to get it down the drive. Not looking forward to trying to get there again tomorrow morning.
Spent all morning digging the horses out of the stables too and could only open the front door because it's a sliding one!
