I am feeling quite low at the moment I have a stinking cold and cough which started on the day of the storm and storm Darragh really hasn't helped .The horses are easy enough to do but by the time I have walked the dogs and done the horses I am washed out .The storm has caused major damage to a land drain and the garden fence is trashed plus.roof tiles have moved about at the corners ( repair in hand on the roof but our guy is very busy with more urgent work)The land drain has been dug out and pipe work has been put in to take the water away from the house (it was beginning to come into the air bricks!!! which we had to sandbag until it could be fixed)
However we now have an area 5 foot wide the entire length of the garden and on into the field feeding into a drainage ditch.
This means we have a huge area of muddy infill which is traipsing into the house via the dogs feet and our boots it's really hard to avoid walking on part of it
I look out at the trashed fence and it's depressing. We have ordered the replacement panels which should come in a week or so .I'm sure I'll feel more up beat when I shake off this bad head cold but currently it seems endless trying to keep the place clean and tidy .and the area can't even be grass seed until spring.
Arghhhh I hate this current British weather.!!!!
