Well its pouring down, the grass is long and my two horses have turned into mad hatters. Pretty hard plucking up any sort of enthusiam to ride and I need a motivation talk peeps! Twig is really full of it at the moment., shes put on a lot of weight on this new grass but its really starting to send her loopy. Expected from a 4yo really. Bit of a vicious circle really as the worse she gets I'm embarassed to say the less I feel like getting on and sorting it out not because im scared but because of the agro! WILL WILL WILL get on and have a play with her tomorrow. Just seriously need some motivation to get on with it!

So, its raining, who cares! Long grass... your lucky.. we have none!!!... full of it.. again you are lucky.. my boy is full of nothing!!!4 year old... great.. what are you planning to do with her? Dressage/jump??? What can she do at the moment? Agro... atch... come on.. its fun fun fun!!! Go and get wet... you can always dry off... it will soon be toooooo hot to trot!!! make the most of the soft ground... plan what you are going to do with her.. small goals then go and do it! Positive positive positive!!!! Go and play, educate her TODAY!! tomorrow never comes.. live for the moment!!! Get the idea???!!!! LOL!!!!

GO RIDE!!!
What would happen if you found out tomorrow that you couldn't ride again? You'd really regret all those times you didn't bother. I know I regret not doing as much with mine as I should have, and I can now only hope I can hack her again one day if she ever comes sound. But I'm still MORE than grateful that she's alive and well other than a torn tendon, there have been so many unfortunate people recently. Someone (can't remember who) posted a lovely post a while ago reminding us all to appreciate our horses more.
If that doesn't make you feel guilty enough to stir up some action I don't know what will

maybe you could do some groundwork instead.Lunging, longreining or just a little play . It was such a day that i taught my mare to pick up all her feet up from one side

and another i got her used to the idea that i should be able to mount her from either side although i'm still working on that one ! don't worry, tomorrows another day !

Go on you know you want to, it'll be fun! Maybe go for a good gallop to get some energy out of her. Or lunge her before getting on to wear her out abit.
