For the last couple of years I have really been struggling with getting any jods to fit comfortably.

I am not stick thin and do have thighs but would not say I am large.

The problem I have is that they just wont pull up all the way or if they do then they are too big on the waist and although OK to ride in they fall down when not riding! Also most are a bit short in the leg for me ... its turning into a nightmare.

The best I have found so far are the Mark Todd with lycra.

Does anyone else have this problem? If so have you found a make that are a good fit?

Dublin are the only joddies that I can wear - I have tried countless other makes, and cannot find any to fit me - like you, I can either get them 3/4 of the way up the leg and no further, or they fit my legs & bum - but fall down. I think I usually get the Dublin Supafit ones. Someone said to me to try Pikeur as a lot of German women are built in a similar fashion to me, but I couldn't get them on either :(

Thanks for that .... my failures so far include Premier Equine, Caldene and Derby House. Odd that the old jods that I have all fit me fine but they are now falling apart so am desperate for a pair that will fit

I am probably similar shaped and bought a pair of Loveson ones very reasonably priced from a discounter on ebay. They are a very generous fit and thick fabric too.

Mountain Horse for me. I am size 12 but tall they fit great on the legs, great material so wear well but all my breeches I have to wear a belt as they gape at the back.

For the last few years I've had problem with finding ones that are comfortable. The stretchiness in the fabric means they grip my legs and spend the day constantly sliding down.
But then I have the same problem with jeans. If they were meant to be stretchy, they'd be called track suit bottoms.
Bring back normal breeches !

Try tottie ones they are usually quiet stretchy also the full waistband is elastic making them really comfortable! Or decathlons own make fouganza or something like that, they are amazing and not crazy priced either :)

I always wear breeches now, I'm a size 12 but haven't got sparrow legs like a lot of my riding companions (they are not tree trunks though). My favourites are probably my shires breeches and my Bridleway breeches both of which I got in the R&R sale for £10 each. Bargain! :)

Whoops sorry, I was actually talking breeches just being lazy and called them jods. Apart from the thigh issue and the falling down issue there is also the leg length issue, like they are all a tad short so the Velcro only just does up.

I am 5'7", longish leg and shortish body. Cant stand anything that doesn't come up to waist but high waisted don't sit well either. I think I am in between size 12 and 14, so much is dependant on the manufacture as some are small and some huge.

Looking at the Dublin breeches the model has thighs so they might be hopefuls. Will look at some of the other suggestions as well though.

I have the falling down issue whether they are really tight or not so wear all mine with a belt to help, high waisted are definately better! John Whitaker are a good fit for me, as are Jeffries

I have a nightmare trying to get jodhpurs or breeches - can anyone recommend any brands for someone of 5'7 - with 35inch leg measurement and a 24inch waist/uk size 6. I know I am very lucky but it doesn't always feel that way!

Had my musto ones for years. They just pull on they are like ski pants and are elasticated at the waist. They dry quickly and are warm.

I have this too! Need a 28 to fit my calves and waist, but 30 for my thighs- agree that breeches are much more comfortable but I get a kind of sag at the crotch. It doesn't look too fetching!!

Ax

saddle craft ones are my go to ones, they're 95% cotton so much better at holding shape, I'm 5.6 wear a 32'' and am a 14 in normal trousers :)

I have trouble with belts ... like the trousers/jods fall down at the front but the belt stays in place. This is not a fetching look either!

Its all rather annoying as my old (like 5years old and starting to look decidedly worn out) breeches fit perfectly and don't fall down, so its not that my shape has changed

I got my first 2 pairs at their Burghley stand 3 years ago. I got another couple of pairs from their ebay shop last year. Hope they haven't stopped doing them.

I have quite short calves and often end up with the ends of my jods bunching up around the ankle.

However, I have to say I have never had this problem with my lovely Decathlon Fouganza breeches! The fit nicely around the waist too and are super comfy! :)

Ha you want gallop ones, honestly I'm 5.9 and size 12/14 with bigger hips and I can never find any to fit me. Tried on gallop 2 tone jods in grey/black in a 30" and they are fab and quite thick which holds any wobbly bits without showing. I love them

I'm 5 foot nothing and 12-14, the equetech close contact and mountain horse ones are best for me (trust me to need the expensive ones!), I have nicely rounded (!) thighs but VERY hollow back due to excessive spinal curvature so sometimes get them altered in the waist.

Doom and despair, the Dublin Supafit were a disappointment and had to be returned. If they say a 28 waist they really should be ... these were about 4" too big on the waist and no way am I that skinny! They were also short in the leg on me, so thought at that price if they are not a good fit they might as well go back ... such a shame.

Waiting arrival of the Saddlecraft .... fingers crossed!

Ariat Olympias every time - even have a integral tummy flattening panel - expensive but worth every penny and no bunching round ankles as have no Velcro bit - love them!

This ^

I don't wear anything else. They are not as fancy or stylish as many others but they really do fit well, and stay up! I really love their pull on ones. Soooo comfortable. I can work in them or lounge about in them all day. Very good price too.
