Every day my young Czech WB seems to amaze me

Today was our first hack in over 6 months, due to injury and surgery (me)

Not only was he perfectly behaved, very forward but no spooking or silliness, but the flies were horrendous, all over his head and face (30+) he totally ignored them :)

Even though I had used dr saddle we went for a canter across the fields wow what an angel

He had a few moments in the first few months I had him but since then he ~NEVER EVER does anything more than a cheeky little nap or a bit of excited anticipation worst is he gets bouncy when jumping;)

Outside the arena they are building a new classroom block, he ignores all the cranes swinging large plastic things just feet away, diggers banging around everywhere. walks past the site with all the plastic covers flapping everywhere

He comes to call EVERY time, I can do anything with him, well (except put a total novice on off the lead rein as he gets worried by people who are unbalanced)

But He is totally perfect :p

Well done you! It's lovely when things go well. About time for you eh! I was thinking about you the other day - wanted to pick your brain about your ankle. It is fused right? How does that affect your riding etc? My surgeon glossed over the option with me. xx

Yeah it is about time :D thanks
No I managed to convince surgeon to do an ankle replacement instead :D so I have almost perfect flexion :D I had my last op nearly 4 months ago when the first replacement moved. BUT now I am totally pain free. Just building the strength back up :D

Remind me about yours

WOW, that is amazing! I'm really pleased for you. It is about time it came right for you. I remember you having it go wrong, and facing another operation. I can't believe after only four months you are nearly pain free!

Me, well I quartered my talus bone and snapped my fibula from a horse rearing over on me. Two operations involving screws, wire and a plate - took me almost a year before I could walk unaided.

Two years on, went for a check up and the xray showed that my blood supply has not returned to my talus. The good news is, that it hasn't crumbled.... yet. But it will. :( The surgeon's registrar said that I would need a 'big operation'. I asked what, he said to have it fused. I told him I could deal with the pain for now thank you! I'm only 27, and they want to fuse it! How did you convince them to replace yours? xx

Glad he's being a good boy- maybe he's done lots of growing up in his time off?

I think we are- today our ex-racehorse happily trotted along behind me on a little cob as we jumped through over a load of logs down a track out hacking. He then happily stood as I plucked up the courage to do a bigger one, as my sister videoed us from his back. He is a donkey dressed as a TB I'm sure! He then mooched next to us (after a canter behind us too) as the little cob bounced and jogged his way home! Wouldn't believe he's out eventing over 1m courses, and is blitzing round within the time without too much effort.

I told him it was important to have flexion for my riding! Also I have Rheumatoid arthritis which mean't if he fused it, very soon I would have had problems with all the other bones. I think it is the only time in my life I was glad I have RA

I would see if you can get an appt elsewhere, I went to Oswestry
