I've sprayed all itching areas yard stables as I'm breaking in 2 ar min. 1 keeps getting it. Itching like mad I have to treat it every 2 weeks then she's fine I steep all her gear everything gets done. I have also fenced of some trees as didnt want to kill trees with spray. But keeps coming back the other horse gets it about once a month not too itchy. Also have had all my horses get it once this summer but once treated never came back. They are in all different fields few miles apart. But the one at the house is driving me insane. I use pour on and it works I also wash her after a few days and she's grand for bout 2weeks.
Is it just here or is it a year for it. I always have to treat it in the autumn maybe once in summer but never every 2weeks. Is there an injection for lice?
Thanks for reading, hot choc and cookies for all.

I believe Dectomax from you vet does lice as well as mites? Definitely worth calling them. Two of our riding school ponies suffer but we have only had to treat them twice this year, a change in fields did the trick. There are still others in the original field but they don't seem to suffer, this makes me wonder if some are more "tasty" and prone to lice than others, bit like humans and mozzie bites.

What are you using? I used Deosect on my shetties in the middle of winter. It got through their 50 inch thick coats and I didnt spray anything else apart from brushes/headcollars and stable walls. I did it once a week for a month then once more two weeks after and touch wood, they hasn't come back!

Hi,
Thanks for replies. I use estospec its a cattle pour on. Have been using it since I'm a child usually once a year. But I had to do them all once this year and there in different fields. But thats grand. But the 2at the house I'm trainning is getting it more often and one of them is every 2 weeks. Pour on down back. But also can mix 10mls with 500mls water and sponge all over. But same thing few weeks and have to do it again. There coat is in excellent condition just bloody lice won't stay away. Will ask vet advice. Thanks was just wondering was it just mine this year, as some years can be worse than others.
