Anyone else worry they are obsessed?

No I'm definitely not obsessed with horses (or anything tbh). I've had them all my life and they've been my business for a great many years so I obviously like being around horses but they aren't all-consuming for me. I have a very busy social life which I enjoy.

Been thinking more about this today, I can't work out whether my head isn't in my work because I have had enough there and I need more challenge or whether it is the fact that I am on DIY and am constantly thinking about the pressure of getting to her as soon as possible as it is dark and wet and I want to get her to bed.

This is EXACTLY me - word for word!!

Perhaps it is because you are able to be around them all day that means you are very glad to have other aspects of your life?

Maybe. I'm also much older than you and most people do change as they age. I was young once :D and worked in other fields away from horses for a while and I still wasn't obsessed with them, but at that time in my life I again had a really full social life and travelled a great deal. I liked seeing my horses when I came home but they weren't parked in my thoughts constantly while I was away.

I wish I could switch it off :(

I write myslef notes so i can leave last lesson to get to the yard in daylight!

When i say im going to revise and do some work, i get sucked onto HHO or read a horse agazine or some info about vet work or new saddles.
All i think about is when i can write fitness programs and when the farrier is coming etc,
My social life is a night out or meal with the yard lot!

I do go out with school friends occasionally though

I think most of us are a tad obsessed.

The question to ask yourself is what sort of person you would be without horses. Would you be happy? I gave them up for several years to keep ex happy and I was a really horrible and miserable person for much of that time. Some of us don't just want horses, they fulfill some deep need in us.

This!! ^^^^
