Am I the only one with a mare that could kill and plays up while being ridden whilst in season? Or is my mare special? :S really need to know that I'm not the only one suffering moody mare syndrome!

Hi, I dont own a mare but my friend does and hers goes really stupid when being ridden in season. Stroppy mare seems to take the edge off.

If she's really bad I'd talk to a vet about regumate, or maybe have a marble put in, or she may have cystic (sp?) ovaries if her seasons are prolonged?

My daughters mare is unrideable at this time of year due to spring grass and seasons, our newish mare was terrible on her first season with us (day after arriving) due to our gelding being bolshy with her and being a recently ex broodmare, two months on and hardly know she's in season, both gelding and mare get stroppy mare, my daughters is on klop, with some success.
NOTHING worse than a mardy mare
