Has anyone else found that their horse is a whole lot less spooky when they are riding in the dark? Our school has only one light at the moment while the lights get fixed and my horse was a lot less spooky when I was riding him in the parts where the light couldn't reach!

I would imagine that's because when they are at the dark end there's no shadows, whereas if you just have one light they'd be quite a lot of shadows at the 'light' end?

My horse who is generally quite spooky, is much less spooky in the dark! The school I ride him in is fairly well but not wonderfully lit at night, and there are dark fields on two sides with big thunder-hooved horses turned out in. I think he's a wuss and listens to me more because he's a bit scared about what is "out there" :)
