Hubby has just landed home and tikka can hear his van come down the road and her ears and eyes are like stalks !

She then starts to whine and pace up and down the hall and stands by the front door, once hes in ..... she jumps up and down and running around in circles .

Think she misses him

Mine change as the mood takes them. More often than not they don't even bother to get up!! He is not impressed.
On the other hand when we have finished on the yard in the morning hubby is usually sat having breakfast and they hurtle in to see him. He is dressed for work, they are wet and often muddy so, again, he is not impressed!!

My dogs have always greeted me like that, but never my ex-OHs

When I was a kid I had a CKCS and she used to sit in the living room window for me every school day, waiting for the bus to come home - she knew to the minute when I would be home

Our dogs tend to go beserk when anyone comes down the drive!

They know family though- instead of barking they make sort of whining noises and get all 'squiggly' (which is the best way I can describe it!). They also clock when family arrive a lot earlier- I'm almost certain they know the engine noise of the cars.

Otto will give anyone a welcome and he never does things by half

Even if I just go in the bathroom to wash my hands, I have left his sight and therefore need welcoming upon my return

It's nice to feel loved

OH was used to labs and didn't know what to make of my big fella running up to him, screeching to a halt in front of him and then...just...staring...for...ages....then turning tail and running off, tail wagging madly while OH unfroze
