Anyone elses horse bonkers at the moment

Thank god its not just me suffering then! Went for a 2 hour hack yesterday, cantered up hills, did some xc steps, jumped logs and streams etc, came home knackered. Though we'd just do some light schooling today, climbed up onto the fence, put my foot in the stirrup and he just leapt up and took off round the arena. He proceeded to buck and bronc round the arena for about 20 minutes and everytime he stopped I'd try to catch him and he'd be off again! Finally caught the little s**t and clambered on board where he was tense and chompy non stop, locking his jaw, lifting his head up then throwing it down and pulling me with him, going faster and faster in canter then just stopping, leaping about and carrying on again at top speed or going really lazily in trot with his head on his chest and when I'd try and push him on he'd yank his head up and pee off. I called it a day after about 20 minutes, my arms and legs couldn't take anyore. Spring is most certainly in West Wales!

Yep, mine too. Usually a dead quiet 'mr plod along' but has been cavorting around his field like a spring lamb on Speed; bucking, rearing and doing some impressive handbrake turns.
Has also taken to throwing random bucking fits out on hacks. Last one nearly had me deposited up the branches of a tree.
Off to get a seat belt fitted to my saddle. :D

Yes ours are full of beans just now and a lot sharper. Weekend before last when out on a hack a dog went for my horse. Normally he is not scared of dogs but he went mental, bucked and galloped off at full speed. I came off. Luckily no harm done and got him back again but not an experience I want to repeat!

My old mare late 20s ago hardly moves much just chills.. Went to get her in from field And she was galloping full pelt tale in the air like a Arab ( she's a chunky welsh d)snorting and just looking pretty amazing and really made me smile... Few more years in her yet then lol xx

Mines turned into an utter nutjob over the past week or so and has just started her first season of this year to make life more 'interesting' spring has sprung!!!

Reacher- that sounds painful, I hope you bruises heal soon!!! I managed to stay on mouse through most of his bronking but the sly old git threw in one last massive bronc and I went sailing over his head and landed flat on my back! Not even sure what I did to my wrist but it sure is painful!

THIS happened to me yesterday!!! I think I had a very lucky escape, I watched his legs flick over my face as he jumped over me, I'm told 'rather spectacularly', apparently I stayed on through several of his 'heels above my head bronks'. Serves me right I guess for boasting recently that he hasn't bronked for almost a year... must be spring fever... if he carries on like this he might not see summer this year, let alone spring next year! Hope you're wrist is OK now Lizzie, and hope everyone else's bruises etc heal up soon.

xx

Yes! Rio has turned into a demon! i went in his stable the other day and put his head collar on to take him out to the school and it was like he was wheel spinning before he took off out of the door like a rocket and then whipped around to face me and almost did a bambi! then he went charging around the school for 20 mins snorting and bucking :o. Taz on the other hand is very chilled in hand but ridden is a complete fruit loop!
