anyone else's horse do this?

What a gorgeous pony but he needs to lose a lot of weight. My Sec D did it as a youngster out of excitement when he first started jumping but when he found a rhythm he stopped.

Lovely pony but looking a bit too well!! I would go back to pole work, poles on ground then cross pole at end so has to think about where feet are!! A good instructor will be invaluable !

yes he's very fat ahaha. he was out of work for a couple of months with a sarcoid on his face and in that time he blew up like a balloon we're working on it though ahahah

Does him doing a huge stride put him wrong at the fence? If not I wouldn't worry to much. Just practice a nice rhythmic canter over poles gradually increasing the height.

Oh he's lovely!
I agree with the weight comments too.

I would go back to pole and grid work, and as others have said focus on a lovely rhythmic canter, and gradually increase the pole height.
