We got a new bag this week and the two that have it arn't eating it very well. It seems ok smell wise.

They have always eaten it with no problems before. Anyone elses horse doing this?

Yes my two had at the end of the last bag - but I just put it down to the bag having been open for a little while. I've now swapped mine on to alfa a for the winter, as I normally do, and they seem fine with that

Do you know, I think every bag I buy is hit and miss!!!

One smelt like fish, then I had one that smelled like vanilla ice cream!!! This one is normal and is eaten with relish... I wonder why.... ???

I know the really strong vanilla one was due to a machine fault.

We're going to put them on mollases free hifi now as they liked that. Will try and get them to eat as much of the hifi lite as possible though xx

I haven't used any Dengie chaff since I opened a couple of bags and they smelt like fish:o my two wouldn't touch it and they are NOT fussy eaters:D I took them back to the feed merchants and swapped to the Topspec chaffs as they were the only available that were totally molasses free - this was a couple of years ago - but now they have the local farm shop chaffs - the same as the TopSPec but about 3 quid a bag cheaper:D

To use up the hi-fi mix it up with some Fast Fibre :)

I don't use hifi lite but I noticed my good doer looked more molassed than before. I mentioned this to a friend and she said the same about her hi fi original.

We mentioned this to dengie at your horse live and they said have changed the processing so that the molasses is more evenly distributed so you don't find clumps of molasses anymore and then bits that look like they are molasses free like you did before.
