Our fields have little shelter so when it's windy it can be nippy . . . so although some of the hardier horses have had the odd day out naked, we haven't had a day yet when ALL of the horses have been out rugless . . . until today :).

I swear Kal was looking at me as if to say "really?" as I led him up to the field coatless . . . and the very first thing he did was roll and roll and grunt and roll and roll. So lovely to see him with the sun on his back for the first time this year. And equally lovely to look across all the fields and see all of them naked, gleaming and heads down eating . . . wait for it . . . GRASS!

So . . . was it warm enough for yours to go out au naturel today?

Mines had a few naked days recently, but now the flies are out, shes wearing her fly rug with a waterproof top as her proper fly rug has been eaten by mice, so waiting to get the other one delivered!

Hate flies! but Love spring!

Well not naked (heaven forbid - we have shows coming up and a coat to think of!) but yes, winter rug off and fly sheet on for the first time today!

Yes my boy is out naked, although will prob regret later when he's turned from grey to bay!!

I can relate to this . . . will have to curb my natural OCD tendencies and just brush him/put up with his beige-ness until next weekend when he goes out again (ODE at Snowball Farm).

Ponies have been naked during the day and rugged at night for a while, but have been naked 24/7 for a week now. Poor things went onto restricted grazing yesterday as the grass has gone into flush mode. ;)

out naked today, have been a few times, will get a bit muddy if they roll but need them to roll out some winter coat! but rugs back on tonight as ment to get down to 1 degree :(
love the sunshine we have today, not seen it in a while

Mine are clearly loving being able to properly itch all the loose hair - it's coming out in handfuls - birds very grateful for such handfuls of fluffy/ warm nest lining.

There was a frost this morning so quite cold at night. Mine are swopped round now and out at night in during the day. They have bug rugs on and lightweight outdoor rugs on top.

Yes Nell is naked now, tbh, she has only had a rain sheet on in the very wet weather we had, but rug should stay off now its so mild. Lots of horses at the yard have gone rugless, its great to get the sun on their backs

Yup, first day out after box rest. OH too me for a trip to the yard, his idea (faint!) and I got a friend to turn out and catch in after a few hours. He went out and rolled and rolled and rolled!!
