Anyone elses horses shedding their summer coats already?

8 year old TB x has declared winter

Feels like our shetland has only just really stopped his winter moult (you can imagine how long that one takes, even with daily grooming) but yes, his coat has gone dull and he's shedding the short stuff too now. Makes me feel a bit more blue thinking of impending winter, I wish they'd leave it a bit longer before reminding us

Yep I usually clip my boy through summer as he’s such a sweaty sausage but he has skin issues so decided I wouldn’t clip this year as an ‘experiment’. As a result, he’s casting already

Yes, as soon as we've had the longest day, they start releasing their summer coats, just a few hairs at a time.
