Anyone else's horses super fresh?!

My 25 year old, "dope on a rope" cob was rearing when I brought him in today, because the horses in the next field were galloping around. Husbands horse that he's had a year was bucking out on our ride, first time since he bought her. Glad to see this thread & find out its normal.

I have just had to bring my mare in backwards!! She doesn't like the gusty wind, and was charging around the field and rearing up at it. Then she wanted to rear when I had her on the rope, not at me, just the wind!! So, backwards it was!! She let out a sigh of relief once in the safety of the yard!! Silly arab!!

Yep, laid back, well mannered ginger thing threw his dummy in the dirt on Saturday, spinning in the road and being a total giddy goat for no real reason. Would have cantered 3 miles home on the road if I hadn't 'reasoned' with him. Bah!

Soooooo glad we stayed in this weekend and didn't go out to any shows lol!!!!!!

Loving all the nutty OAPs misbehaving, and especially liked the image of Tallyho chasing horsey around the field with her coat!

Dolly has been very joggy joggy this weekend! A total sweetheart in the stable, but very on her toes when ridden!!! I put it down to being in season until I saw this thread!!!!

Soooooooo, oh more knowledgable people than me, when can we expect this to end please?

And thank you!!!

:-)

nope my fatty still a dope lol,

however the old man has been a tad of a nutcase last few days galloping around his feild like a loon and running away when i want to catch him the devil!

Yes! Noticed a sudden change in Dexter last week. Handful to bring in and out the field and just won't stand still when tied up! EVERYTHING is terrifying and being a loony in the field. Glad I'm not the only one!
He charged through the gate entrance on saturday and splattered me with mud...the one time I'm not in "yard clothes".

Yep mine is too hes had to have a week off work due to getting a nail stook in his hoof getting back on today so should be interesting

Well, I've just taken the dog for a walk and you can smell the grass in the fields, so think we are in for a few more weeks of this!! Hopefully the weather will settle so I don't have that to contend with too!

My horse has decided in the last week that he ca't possibley live on his own anymore after 2 years with horses in the field nextdoor. In the last week instead of grazing quite happily grazing knowing they are next door he is now going skits everytime they go ous of site. I arrived to bring him in this morning and the fresh grass i gave him last night when i moved his fence is now a trench where he has been running the fence all night.

I wonderif it's the sudden change in the weather too, been lots of mad loon behaviour in fields and generally most on the yard where I keep mine have been on their toes at one time or another this weekend - one almost doing handstands which were most spectacular to watch. I forgot about the autumn flush though....

I found a vertical hoofprint in a pile of pushed up mud where my gelding and another reside and slide/skid stop marks that were about 4 foot long lol

yes i agree, its the cold and wind thats whipped mine up. Total personality change ,not for the better either.

Definitely! I took mine up to the arena tonight and he buggered off when I was adjusting the mounting block to get on then went hooning round for 5 mins before I could catch him ...

Yep, it's getting a bit nippy now and they're all on their toes. They'll soon settle down and it'll be situation normal when they get used to it.
