Poppy has a problem at the moment. Her legs are only 10cm long, but we have 20cm of snow. She is just having to either leap over the snow, or dig through it. Has anyone elses JRT having similar issues???????

Yep our has same problem OH has had to give him a helping hand on a few occasions.Even with snow tho he still trys to run about like an idiot lol

Hey, we have a JRT called Poppy too!

Our snow is only about an inch deep though, so she's not having this problem. When it's been really deep in the past, my sister (who is her owner) just chickens out and keeps her in the house except for trips outside for the loo.

Pookie has been going nuts in the snow (I posted some pics of him leaping about in PG). He gets big clumps of snow all over his legs and face and is literally shivering but he refuses to come in because he is having so much fun!

My JRT loves the snow, sends him nuts. Luckily he is Parsons jack russell so has much longer legs, but even still we have lost him in places

I haved a JRT to, he has taken up snow swimming!! This was taken last week so we have double that now!! He is getting very pissed off as there r no rabbits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is called Daisy, she is still trying to run about in the snow but not managing to get up quite as much speed as usual

Mine's called Daisy too!

She doesn't struggle much though as she is a Parson JR cross Border Terrier (but she looks like a full JR!) so has the longer legs.

Here are some pics of her and my other dog in the snow:

These pics are from last year, but we have even more snow this time so Tinker is still struggling! She loves it though.

The kangaroo leap is her mode of transport, shown by the lack of paw prints behind her in the first pic.

Great pics everyone, we have only had about 2" of snow here and my two are such babies they haven't wanted to go out much, apart from to eat snow men!

That last JRT is awesome as it has ears like one of ours..

Our three JRT's just jump and plough through it, it's up to their bellies though!

Our neighbours JRT X has been jumping through it - looks like he's got springs on his feet :-)

Our YM has got a little black terrier that jumped out of her Discovery yesterday and completely disappeared!

No pics handy but my JRT is struggling too. She jumped out of the car yesterday into a 2 foot drift and disapeared

She loves new snow but hates ice and slush. She is tiny and has a sort of dolphin movement through the snow.
