Just wondering.

May I ask, if you have:

Do you have any pictures?
Would you buy there again?
What did your horses turn out like?

Appleby is the traveller community highlight event things do not go cheap there from experience.

I have a pony who came from travellers and I had to put a lot of ground work in, including basics like tying up, feet etc. Also had to teach her we didnt need to trot every where.

Never done travellers like that and probably wouldn't ever.

However my gran had 2 ponies off Romany Gypsies (I know they're different and it's a bit of a tangent). They were the best kept, trained, condition etc that I've ever met and were so loving and willing. I'd always take a Romany horse if offered, would be wary of a traveller one unless young or turned away... however having said that am currently fighting myself on asking for one of the meat horses local to us.... sucker that I am!

Not me personally but someone I know got their cob from Appleby but they did know what they were doing! He is a lovely well looked after hairy coblet and a friendly boy but he is in good hands and was a youngster.

I have no idea what they paid etc, I dont think its necessary as you can find that type of horse for sale anyway.

I worked for a dealer, who often bought from someone with traveller connections. He would never have another one from Appleby, as the last one he had went over with him and broke his leg. He did get rid of a few feral ones there though!

I went to Appelby about 4 years ago. Husband very happy as I went with my Mum and Dad in their shiny new jeep and didn't take a trailer! At least she won't come back with another horse he thought. WRONG!! Saw a gorgeous little dun Shetland with big lad bouncing about on it coming towards me. "how much" says I. "sure now I'll be wanting £200 for him" he said in his strong Irish accent!! I told him I would give home £100 and have him if he could get him in the back of the jeep!! Sure enough 4 hefty Irish men lifted him into the shiney new jeep and that is how we acquired Mouse!! He has been fabulous, there is a picture of him on my website talking to my daughter Laura. www.parkendequestrian.co.uk. He is so cute. Needless to say the husband was less than chuffed and the shiny new jeep ponged a bit!!

Not Applby but Stow fair so same thing! My friend bought a foal in a bad way for £350 as she couldn't leave him. As a 3 Yr old she gave him to us as a present for my daughter. Current sight issues aside as this is a problem that arose when my friend had him he's been amazing. Easy to break and about to start pc this summer. He's not your conventional gypsy cob but a very pretty grey connie x. I have seen disastrous buys though and known people with large vets bills
