Have got lots of horsey items that i want to get rid of, have advertised them on the swap shop but not having much luck and just really want them out the way now.

So i was just wondering what other peoples experiences of equestrian table top sales are? What did you have for sale on your table and do you think it was successful?

I've been to a couple and made a profit of about £70 at each one. I took all things horsy (rugs, tack, riding clothes) and sold cakes too. I really loved it and got some bargins too. You need to make sure that they're well advertised before you go and hope that there are lots of buyers and not just people selling stuff!

I've organised 2 of my own at my yard and have been to several in the area.

Make sure you go to one that is well advertised. Check online, local papers and horsey websites like H&H, Horsemart, Preloved and Friday Ads as these let people advertise for free so more likely to have ads on them.
When doing a search on line best typing in words like Equine Car Boot, Tack Sale etc and put the county in otherwise you will end up at looking at sales the other end of the country.
When you phone up, ask how many stalls they have booked in already and if they have done one before, if so how busy was it.
Remember, even the well advertised ones won't guarantee 100's of people turning up and like any car boot it's pot luck who and how many people go to it.
Get there early to set up, make sure everything is as clean as possible...People are less likely to buy a dirty smelly rug no matter what the make is.
Take a table to put smaller stuff on and tarpaulin to put the rugs, boots etc on the floor.
Remember it's a car boot and although you don't want to give it away, people go for bargains so don't over price your items and be open to offers. You may have paid £80 for that Rambo rug but you will prob only get £30/£35/£40 for it in good condition so if you think you might be offended if people offer you what you think is silly money then put it on Ebay.

It's quite easy to organise your own. If you have somewhere to put a few stalls and parking you could run your own so as well as making money off your stall you will making a few quid from the pitches.
There are loads of places to advertise and i also send flyers out to local yards. PM me if it's something you would like to know more about.

Good luck and i hope you make a few pennies :)
