Hi all,

Have you ever planted mint in your field for your horses?

A friend gave me some to plant by my kitchen window, but I just wondered if I could plant it in my field. I know it spreads like mad, but i don't mind.

Can horses get ill on too much mint?

Do you think its a good idea to plant it in the field?

thanks.

Mint is not suitable for planting in the field, if you want your horse to have access to some ad lib try growing some in a large pot, whatever you do keep the roots out of the field soil, they spread in the same way as nettles with runners.

LOL!!! I think I am the only person in the whole world who has managed to kill a whole bed of mint!!!
