Anyone Fancy a Boring Baydale Day?

yorkie - that was against all the odds, you must have stored up some good karma points (Avenger's wise words

).

TS, don't tempt fate please, and you can speak for yourself re your middle-aged comment, 40 is the new 30 don't you know?

k9h, good thinking, I'll pass on some of my Broken Bones remedy to Hattie.

m_m - I'll be inspired once I've read those books, so watch out.

ISZ - you're so bossy, but if you say say so *Baydale trundles off to search for cake, knowing full well where the wine is already*

OMG what a horrible accident. I'm really glad to read everyone is OK albeit rather shocked.

Baydale - I think you should stay at home for the next few days to try and keep you out of trouble!

Your report made me shiver, that's the stuff of nightmares.
I do hope she makes a good recovery, what a superb temperament to cope with all that.
Best wishes to all concerned, yes, I agree, in times of crisis people always come up to the mark and are so kind..

Hmmmm if that's a boring day I think I'll pass thanks

Seriously though it sounded horrific and you're all very lucky to get away relatively unscathed. Fingers crossed that Hattie and her foal are ok x

Wow - that's the most frighting thing I've ever read on HHO, I'm shaking and feeling sick, a horse owners worst traveling nightmare.

Love and healing vibes to all the H's and you. Amazing how you cope at times! I think bad luck comes in three's too, one week I broke my ankle, had a house fire...and a poorly, colicy horse. Whisky mac became my friend!

I think a night cap for the next few nights is in order, you must have gone over and over the accident in your mind so many times.

PapaFrita, it's incredible how resilient animals can be, isn't it? H and I joked that this foal will have to be called Lucky.

Ha! Yes, I thought he same about the Little Cigar. I'd call him that or Tony Montana after Al Pacino's character in Scarface... I used to film characters a LOT when (re)naming my ponies...

OMG, Hope you are feeling not toooo stiff this morning from it all, how horrendous and huge vibes for Hattie, what a sweet sweet mare to cope with all of that! Hope babie keeps healthy too. Lovely people in the trailer too to help like that!

I hope the insurance claim is not too horrendous and some good witnesses step forward.

x

Thanks everyone. H says Hattie is coping well with being in and having nothing to worry about other than the "braces" on her teeth and how much haylage she can consume.

Maizy - I'm not a fan of whiskey so I'll pass on the whiskey mac thanks.

PF - I did wonder where Little Cigar's name came from, so much nicer than Tony!

samuelwhiskers - I have a feeling the insurance claim is going to drag on and be a drag too.

Good God - my blood ran cold when I read that

I can only imagine what was going through your mind in the first few moments after seeing the trailer come off.

Hoping for speedy recovery for the mare, thank goodness everyone one else is OK (although I expect your nerves have taken a bit of a battering!) xx

How awful.

I had a a car drive into the back of my trailer (driver fell asleep) and write it off about 7 years ago, luckily the trailer stayed upright so the horse was OK.

I was insured with NFU and they were great, replaced the trailer within 3 weeks, then they (I guess) dealt with the drivers insurance after that.

Hope all ends well.
