Anyone fancy horse hunting for me??

I seem to be getting nowhere and I've seen from other threads how good some of you are at horse hunting! So, anyone want to try for me?

I'm looking for 15.2hh - 16.2hh, 4-8 years old, to do a bit of everything but would like to affiliate BE / BSJA and hope to do up to 1.10 or more would be fab. Not too quirky, I'm experienced but have had bad experiences in the past and have back / hip trouble.

Needs to be within an hour or so's drive of Haslmere, Surrey. Budget up to about £6.5k could stretch it a bit more (at the expense of a new kitchen - OH know's where my priorities lie!!) but would rather not!

Any suggestions . . .

i know the perfect horse but i think he is being sold to a dealer tomorrow and by that time the dealer would want more for it, but i would give barry drea a call because this type of horse he deals in all the time.

shame only one hrs drive as i know of a 15.2hh mare, 8 yrs done BSJA i believe, not sure of heights or anything, warmblood and is within your budget, My trainer is selling her so i dont have all info on her, but if you were interested i could pass you on to her.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion but at the moment I just can't justify the time driving too far, if I could arrange to look at a few in a similar area it might be worth it but it's not always easy to co-ordinate things . .

I can get there in 90 mins from southampton. You're closer so can't be far out.



Have you called Vik Hibberd? She's close to you and might have something in. You could get her number off nfed.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm always a bit wary about going to dealers, but I'm assuming you would recommend these two . .

I bought my mare from clipclop (as have many on here). Highly recommend.

I sent my previous horse to Vik to sell. She was very honest and trustworthy (mare went lame while with her, she took her off market immediately and was brilliant helping me sort it out). I would have bought something off her if she'd had something suitable in at time.
 
Is cornwall too far? I know of a very smart 15.1 gelding, 6yrs, placed in his first 2 BE events, lovely flatwork and frequently getting placed at bsja, won only 2 workers entered.

A bit too far really, it's around a 3 1/2 - 4 hr drive.

I have others of my own (and a full time job) and at the moment just don't have the time spare to travel which is a real shame. I've found quite a few that look suitable up Yorkshire way and out West too!
 
I've just looked on sehorses.co.uk and they seem to have a couple in that might suit. A little further than I ideally wanted but maybe worth the trip if they have more than one I can try.

Any one got any comments on them good or bad?
