You're probably all fed up with my moaning about not being able to find a loan horse, so I thought I would rope in some help!! Anyone who fancies trawling the usual sites etc, I'm after:

16hh+ mare or gelding
Schoolmaster type (6yrs+)
No full TBs
Must be safe
Must be able to jump 3ft

I want to do a bit of everything - RC clinics and teams, eventing, occasional hunting, and lots and lots of hacking!!

PS I love chestnuts and chunkier types!

Thanks in advance (homemade cupcakes for anyone who helps!)

Hi horse_mad

Your looking for the holy grail with your wish list, so perhaps you could add where you would be able to compromise and possibly what you have to offer the loanee?;)

Ha ha I was thinking that I'm after everybody's dream horse! I'm not fussed about colour or age as long as it's safe. It doesn't have to be massively experienced as I'm willing to put the work in, but nothing too babyish. I would be happy for something smaller as long as it was a chunkier weight carrier type - I have very long legs!! I would also be open to sharing as long as it was local to me. There must be something out there!!

I hardly ever see suitable loan horses advertised, word of mouth and local saddleries are usually how they get homes and even then very quickly, especially for what you're after!! Is the reason you're after loan due to money upfront to buy? If so have you considered a rescue, bluecross have a few ridden horses looking for homes currently, you just need a home check done and an adoption fee (nothing like the price to buy a horse!) and they can usually go anywhere in the country, plus a reputable source, take a look at this lad for example: http://www.bluecross.org.uk/2584-84712/harry.html

Thanks competitiondiva. The main reason is due to money upfront, but also because I am uncertain of what my situation will be in a years time, so do not think it would be wise to jump into buying a horse, as much as I would love to! I just need to be patient I guess. I had looked at charities before but was unsure whether they would have many suitable horses.

Why no full TB's? Don't be breed-ist ;)!!!

And I am crrently checking horseqest loan section about 20 times a day (both because I want to find you a horse and revision is dull)... plus i'd do just about anything for one of your home-made cupcakes ;)

And just to clarify for any prospective loan-finders out there - Horse_Mad is not heavy (she's a skinny-minnie dispite the cupcakes ), just has a particular liking to chunkier types. But i think most types as long as they would take up your leg would be considered eh???
