Am shortly to be looking for a new horse (:D)....reckon there's anything out there for me/anyone fancy advert trawling?!

Basically I want something to have lots of fun with, with a bit of a dressage bias. Looking for a 16.1hh +, 5-9 year old, MW gelding, not coloured :p I'd like something relatively safe but definitely not a plod. Would think about an ex-racer but nothing too fine. Will be doing some dressage, lots of hacking, and hopefully it'll give me the confidence to go hunting :) Budget - under £5k (would consider more, but would ideally look around £3.5k).

Ok you have just described the horse I have been searching for since June :-) although I did have a break I am not chasing round the country trying horses and from my experience no matter how deflated the market is the really good ones sell and sell well.

Had one I was too late for already sold before I decided to progress and one failed the vet :( still hopeful and just think of the money I am saving.

I think they're rather a popular sort aren't they! Best of luck with your search.

Nothing wrong with Mares in my book my issue is I dont want a grey,I have an issue with light sensitivity which would be a joke if you werent me having to explain it to all and sundry, and fancy a bit of cob chucked in for good measure.

Horsey window shopping is my favourite activity!! With the occasional foray into thinking about actually buying (which I am currently contemplating).

Excuse my ignorance but im in the north east, county durham to be precise and I have no idea where about you are and without sounding cliche she is very un mareish and she isnt grey lol

Hi, I have a 10 yr old 16.2hh Light/Medium weight Hannoverian gelding. Has hunted, evented, hacks and Showjumped. Perfect manners, clean limbed and established flatwork including changes. 5k

I have one of the most super versions of what you have asked for (but Im not 100% that I want to sell him) He is safe as houses but isnt lazy. He is the sweetest horse I have met in a long long time!

He will only be around 16hh though (hes 15.3 now at 4) but he is a he lol and he has turned his hoof to everything happily

This is him....

Hes ace and Im in Berks....

But im not 100% about selling him as he is so easy and fun and lovely.

If you are really really nice and would cuddle him all the time I would think about it!!

Pm me if you like :)

just thought, we have a lovely gelding at the yard for sale, he has jumped upto 1m20, jumps like an absolute stagg, he is very easy to do, has been to national amatuer finals twice. he is up for 3.2k, simply because he is not snaffle mouthed and can be very strong but IS completely safe. Has never bucked, bolted or reared. has endless amount of energy, he is extremely well behaved. I couldnt tell you what he is like in heavy traffic beacuse we dont have that around here ;-) i have always wanted to do dressage on him, has he has alot of pazzaz (sp) we are in the south west.
We just want a lovely home for him :-)
forgot to say, i think hes 10, and he is about 16.2. i would have him myself to do riding club level on but i canny afford anymore!

Thanks, he sounds nice. I'm not sure the strong element will suit me unfortunately :( I'm looking for something that I can potentially hunt or take XC, and I think something very strong wouldn't be a good place to start. Thanks anyway :)

Give these guys a call, i got my boy from them and would recomend them. They havnt got anything that suits on the website but they may be able to find something or have one thats not advertised, i've often seen really nice allrounders with them for your budget.
