Anyone feed cow hooves as a treat

I am looking for a treat that will last a the girls a little while, years ago I have feed hooves to dogs empty ones not the ones filled with god knows what, found some on the internet at a reasonable price. Is there any danger in feeding them I know lots of people don't feed rawhide chews for various reasons.

Yep i feed them.

They are hard and mine have not managed to get anything off of them at all. So they are for gnawing not eating.

They smell bad!

Thanks Katielou, my OH remembered they smelt bad when I suggested getting some! I'm still tempted tho.

I quit using them as chew toys/treats after my dachshund fractured a tooth on one. I have heard of several other dogs breaking teeth on cow hooves. My dachsies were very hard chewers and did manage to break off pieces and swallow them. They usually came up later. So between the broken teeth and the possibility of stomach problems, I would not use them.
