Anyone feed Equilibra balancer - any good?

Just wondering if any of you feed Equilibra feed balancer. their website has some wonderful reviews on it from people who say their horse looks much better, is much calmer etc.

Was wondering if any of you guys rate it?

Also, I am thinking of putting my itchy horse on a skin supplement. Do you think i'd need a skin supplement as well as Equilibra -- or would Equilibra have skin benefits as well? sorry for all the questions!

Am re-thinking my horse's feed for the winter and getting organised now.

Some of us are on the conditioning feed from them and its pretty good.

Can work out quite expensive, not sure about the feed balance cost?

I used to, but now use Top Spec as it has more in it and is cheaper! It is about £30 a bag, but a bag will last you 6 weeks. Brilliant stuff.

Hi,

I used to use Equilibra balancer about 8 or 9 years ago. It was the first balancer I used and to be honest I didn't really notice a difference feeding it (I was using it for breeding stock, in foal mares, foals and yearlings) so stopped after several months due to costs.

I started using TopSpec about 4 years ago and noticed a significant improvement in my horses and a reduction in the amount of hard feed I was having to put into my Thoroughbreds.

BTW, have also used Blue Chip but again, did not find it as good as the TopSpec.

As for feeding your skin supplement alonside a balancer, it would depend on what the active ingredient in the skin supplement was and whether it was met by the ingredients in the balancer.

I am on my second sack at the moment and I haven't seen any improvement as yet. I may give Top Spec a go.

I tried my old mare on Equilibra to try and keep some weight on her but didn't find it successful at all.
