Well i took him off the pink powder and the bumps went within 24 hours. So I have concluded it was that rather than the grass nuts (which makes sense) Now comparing the PP and Topspec cubes the only ingredient they have in common is Wheat-feed. I gave away my bag of sacacen equijewel and it doesn't say on their website but if anyone has a bag and could check the ingredients it would be really useful to know what exactly was in that to compare as that was the other feed that brought him up in bumps.

If he is allergic/intolerant to wheatfeed is he likely to be the same with things like oat-feed and other similar things?

My vet is also on he case and would be god to have a better idea of what was causing the reaction, as she is going to get in touch with her friend who is a nutritionist for me on Monday and see what she advises

Thanks

what a nightmare for you, hope you get to the bottom of it.
i watched the vid of jerrys dressage the other day btw an he looked lovely, some really nice trot work! im the same as you, strugling with the canter a bit with my baby, but hopefully ill get there. and youll get there too, jerrys so nice

Oh really? I must check my bag! How naughty of them! Their description says it is only rice bran oil... grr! Will have a look and let you know!

Thanks!

I only looked after he came up in bumps, assumed it was the mollases (they use it to bind it I think) and didnt bother looking at the rest of the ingredients! Was so annoyed that they caused a reaction as was convinced Id found the answer

The ingredients listed on their website are:

> Stabilized Rice Bran
> Calcium Carbonate.
> Vitamin E
> Selenium

Thanks, but there were a few more on the actual ingredients list on the packet, but cant remember what they were

That's very naughty of them - a lot of people use website information like that to work out what products are right for their horses. They wouldn't necessarily check the ingredients on the bag as well.

I went to a feed place for a bag of sumo and the woman went on about this equjewel that much I bought a bag £30+, well it made no difference what so ever, just had a bit more of a shiney coat.
put him back on the sumo and he looked great

Don't know the ingredients off the top of my head, but I feed everything on my yard Saracens food, and feed Equijewel to anything that needs a boost, and its amazing stuff. Works quickly and very very well, really makes them look fabulous.
