Hi everyone. I've always fed my chi nature diet trays as they suit his sensitive diet very well. They have always been great quality to look at and smell and keep my dog happy and full. Recently they have become awful awful quality. They are soggy, covered in jelly and smell awful! Tried swapping to wainrights trays but they're too much for him. Has this happened to anyone else? I have tried 3 different shops - all are the same. I don't want to risk ordering off the net to see if theyre different. I am going to give them a call tomorrow.

Thanks

I work in a pet shop and I have heard this complaint more and more over the past month as we've sold through the old stock.
Basically, they have changed the way they cook it, so instead of it being one big batch then packaged, they now cook it in the individual packets, hence the change.
The recipe has not changed at all (as far as we have been told), just the method of cooking.

So unless you can get a hold of old stock, everything you buy will be the same.

I have heard a few people say the same thing. Berriewoods have been displaying a notice on their website for a while stating they are having problems with deliveries of Naturediet due to a "supply problem at the Naturediet factory", so maybe they are aware of an issue and are trying to sort it out.

I have recently found exactly the same thing. My dog has been off his food (not sure if this is related). I bought Nature's Harvest, which has good reviews, as a replacement food. My dog seemed to enjoy it yesterday. The quality is so different in Naturediet and also there doesn't seem to be so much food in the tray. I am glad someone else noticed it.

I won't be feeding it anymore. I had two trays that had blue plastic pieces mixed into the meat. I contacted them and their reply was oh yeah that's the lining of the bins we transport the meat in. New defra laws mean that they have to line the bins with plastic and sometimes it gets into the food. Wasn't impressed with that.

Wainwrights is made by Forthglades and is cheaper.

Nature Diet packets are apparently blown very commonly recently. If the packs are blown, the food is off, I'm told.

I feed mine this and they love it, I actually like that's its softer and jellyfied lol....there was a note from the manifacturer on the boxes where I buy mine which had something to do with packaging and the fact the packets are bloating and splitting (not sure if this effects the ingredient) and makes it soggier. I still find it superior to forthglade and wainwrights.
