My pony has always been on grass livery, I would like a stable for her but apparently she prefers being out! (according to a horse whisperer?!).
I think unless your horse is a bit of an oddball (and there are a few) who prefer being indoors, the majority would choose the sun on their backs and their grass under their feet any day of the year, come rain or shine
My friend has just moved her horses from a livery yard to grass livery. She's rented 13 acres for.......are you sitting down?.....£25 a month. That's not per horse, it's for the whole thing!! She's crunched the credit good and proper...

Good God!! Where and how on earth at that price?!?!
Yep, she can sub-let, and put up a hay barn, field shelters etc, as long as the local council are OK about it. In fact the agent has said 'do what you like'. The land is a bit hilly and needs some work but basically it's great. I daren't tell you where it is until it's ready for more horses, my friend might kill me!!
