Hiya

I'm currently a uni student at Bristol, I've moved back (from home in sussex) a month before uni starts as I had found myself a job to try and earn some money . Unfortunately this has fallen through so i'm looking elsewhere.

I was wondering if anyone from the area could give me some advice? Where's the best place to look for yard jobs? Back home we have a good few monthly mags that do alot of local advertising, is there something similar I could get hold of? Or where could i advertise my services as a groom/rider? Having lived in the centre of Bristol for the past 2 years I don't even know where any saddlery/tackshops area around the city!

Any help appreciated!

Emily

Hi Emily

Off the top of my head I can think of Equicraft in Backwell, Jenny's tack shop in Longwell Green, and Murphy's Saddlery. Murphy's is local to me and I know definitely does have a noticeboard for things like this.

If you're on facebook try looking up 'NEW bristol and south west horse information group' as well - lots of people on there and there might be someone who'd be able to offer you some work...

Shop wise also try Nichols Cow Mills in Warmley, Patrick Pinker, Chris Puddy or Pointings. Maybe even SCATS as they have an Equestrian section too.

Magazine wise try Trade-it, Friday Ad's or Western Daily Press maybe (does that still exist??). Even some of the local riding clubs or pony club, Bath or Syston for example.
