Hi All

Just looking into the possibility of offering Livery as I have several empty stables and just wondered if anyone could give me any info on what sort of demand there is in Wiltshire for Part/Full livery and the livery fees.

I would only be able to offer stabling and all year round turnout but no school however I am situated on the edge of Salisbury plain so masses of riding but I wasn't sure if the lack of school would put people off??

I am a Devon lass, only been in Wilts a few months so no idea about livery up here!

Many Thanks

People round us (west of Salisbury) are turning people away at the moment, although they mainly have schools. There are quite a few people who wouldn't care if there was a school or not, or would be happy to school on the Plain in summer though.

plenty demand for all round turn out wherever you are! There are lots of places around you but i think you will be able to fill your boxes if you have fields. i used to live round there.

Thanks, yes I thought scooling on the plain would be ideal in the summer as well.

So do alot of places not offer all year round turnout then?? Also any idea what livery fees are round here??

I used to be at a livery yard which was about 15 miles from the edge of the plain. We were paying £20 a week, the yard had a school and average hacking, and all year turnout but the fields were quite small.

If you were to advertise on an endurance website I think you might get quite a few takers, as the plain is brilliant for endurance training.

The no school thing will put some off but you can still expect £75/week for full if the rest of the facilities are good. Perhaps more than that once you get up and running.
We are east of Salisbury and run full livery, tend to be full all year round despite restricted hours of turnout in the winter
