My mare can have anything she wants for Xmas .... as long as it looks exactly like what she already gets
Ok maybe some extra parsnip and polo's ... sugar free ... oh and a kiss and hug .. well mood depending as she might try and kill me if i try that and she isnt in the mood!
All sorts! I have had my horse 19 years now and never missed a christmas sat in the corner of his stable opening his presents.......yes they are wrapped!!
I might spring for an extra bag or two of shavings so she's got a bigger bed for Christmas eve and I think my mum is planning on sending up some of the Christmas dinner veggies for her. I also might try sneaking her half a bottle of Guinness but its pretty pointless getting her anything that isnt edshe's cause apart from nice long canters, she's really only interested in stuff she can eat!
Ooo....might be an idea for next year though! Reckon anyone will hire out all weather gallops on Christmas day???
My boys get extra treats and carrots, plus my connie is getting a new dressage bridle, more for him than me but never mind , a thermatex and I'm getting my welshie some new brushes, he's spoilt enough as it is!
I will put some chopped up carrots in his treat ball. I can't think of anything he'll like more.
Unfortunately I'll only see him on Christmas morning, and all he cares about in the mornings is a) having breakfast and b) getting out to play, so I won't even get a Christmas hello from him
Will get him lots of fruit and veg, loves his pears and Swedes. Plus plenty of polos of course
And a new horselyx (shoot me, yes molasses. Never killed one of mine yet )
He desperately needs a new breastplate, girth and reins but family v anti horsey pres! Like I need new slippers!!
I brought a buttersctoth likit for him, waste of time since thanks to the rain I haven't been to see him for the last time this year If I had I would have lavished likits and a huge pamper session on him Will juist have to have a late Xmas pressie I suppose!
Big horse already has her present, a new turnout rug and it already looks as though she had it for years. Special needs shetland is getting a stable mirror which will hopefully entertain her and mum shet has a nameplate for her door, it says International Superstar because she is in the top 100 on the league leader board for online agaility!
My neddy is in horsepital until the 27th so he'll be getting a belated set of mud fever boots courtesy of OH (who has insisted at least one member of the family gets a present this year as we don't give each other gifts).
I'm off to buy a bag of his favourite apple treats and some extra peppermints plus sort of stable toy/s as he wil be on box rest for a couple of weeks when he comes home.
It's his first Xmas with us and having no children or anyone else to buy for this year means one very spoilt horse. And yes, I'll be gift wrapping all his presents
