I go for the shopping only, as wayyyy better than HOYS/Olympia etc. I have never looked at the demos, but me and my friend have a whale of a time each year.
Haven't been for a few years, but me and 3 friends are going for one last horsey hurrah!!
I remember the first year we went we were able to buy some of the rubber matting used around the halls. We just had to pick it up on the Monday. Bought enough to fit my three stables - it was a bargain.
You get a discount if 4 or more people going so only costing £21 each, so don't think that is too bad.
Like a lot of people we used to go religiously every year, but when they started charging more for watching the demo's and yes it did get a bit samey, we haven't been for a few years.
Saying that though we used to go to HOYS every year as well, but stopped a few years ago.
Quite looking forward to it
i know most of you have said you’re not bothering, but those of you that have been - how many layers do i need to wear??? i HATE taking a coat and having to carry it, id honestly rather be cold, is it t-shirt and jumper kind of warm??
I’m glad some people are going to go and enjoy it. I’m actually feeling a little more tempted to go on Friday now as the crowds are a bit less and it would be nice to have a slow mooch around. It would also be a good place to pick up my SS gifts.
dottielottie wear comfortable walking shoes and lightweight layers that you can easily shed if needed. I usually go in a tee shirt and fleece with a light down jacket if its cold. Some of halls can get quite warm if there’s a lot of people in them but you can always cool off outside and you will have to walk between areas outside but it’s not far.
