Bred by puppy farmers and purchased by idiots. What else do you need to know?

Oh the irony!! No I won't bother, it will be wasted!
Actually bred for people with allergies who don't want a poodle. Absolutely beautiful dogs. Ours was bought from a lovely private home, we still keep in touch. The most lovely spaniel bitch, put to a minature poodle, fantastic temperament. Our boy is the most loving soft intelligent animal, obedient and easy to train. Everyone loves him and comments on his lovely curly coat. He is very healthy due to the known cross breed vitality. There is really nothing bad I could say. as a true dog lover I would never say negative things about
another type, these are people's loved pets
Oh..and I am a professional graduate, not an idiot.
Ps standard poodles are usually put to labs?
I've never quite understood the whole non-moulting dog for those with allergies idea. I'm allergic to all fur and feathers, so unless the dog is bald...
Yep all dogs shred hair, even my Scottie does and she needs clipping. What people don't realise also is that dogs harbour dust mites in their fur, which is why they need a good wash regularly, and many people are actually allergic not to dog hair but to dust mites that are in the dogs coat. Hence they think they are allergic to dog hair.
That is interesting. My brother is allergic to dogs at least that's always been the story. He could tolerate my old dog in the house as long as she wasn't in the same room. It would seem from this I could make things even easier for him if I bathed the dog before visiting.

I would imagine it would be very unusual to find a cockapoo using a standard poodle bitch, as CT says the dog might struggle to reach!
Regarding the whole "doodle" thing, there is a piece in this weeks Dog World quoting Willy Conron who "invented" the labradoodle as a guide dog. A couple of interesting quotes from him
" I quickly realised that I'd opened a Pandoras Box when our next litter of ten labradoodles produced only 3 allergy free dogs"
I have nothing against the dogs themselves but why do people continue to purchase mongrels (sorry, cockatoo or whatever poos!) for more money than a pedigree dog when there are thousands of unwanted cross breeds and mongrels in rescue centres?!?!!?
Tosh, sorry, both bits. Bred for the latest fashion as there are no guarantees of the dog being non-allergenic. The cross breed vitality bit absolutely incenses me. Beyond stupid to perpetrate that myth. Where's your proof? This particular cross, apart from accidental litters, is relatively recent, I'd say so recent that the first wave of them can't be much older than 6 or so. Prove what you say or don't post. This is not some idle part of the forum where regular posters don't know what they're talking about. There are very experienced people who will give you the correct info if you're willing to learn.
Thanks for that, was about to go off and find a decent quote re ratios of allergy free dogs from him
Because its still the latest must have fashion accessory, like the Qashqai or suchlike.
Irrespective of type or breed, I would urge the OP to source a health tested (not vet checked!) set of parents, highly unlikely with
designer cross breeds.[/QUOTe
The dander and hair shedding is lower than in many types. I dont need to learn about my own dog but thanks. I will post what and where I like. As with any dog researched and correctly purchased they are gorgeous, not a new cross at all although granted they have become more popular in recent years.
Ignore the nasty bitter postings. Post where you like, no one owns or controls this part of the forum so don't be put off by what is really bullying
