Anyone got a full TB barefoot and in work?

Yes that's the stuff. Lots of feed suppliers will order it in for you which saves on the postage. I'm sure yours will be fine with the equibeet, Frankie's a bit special in lots of ways.

Im sure Frankie keeps you on your toes  I love my TB's but i do wish they were abit tougher...we have a haflinger x wb who really is 'special' but the one thing he has never done is give me sleepless nights about his feet

Charnwoods ace - its where most of us get it.

I use seasalt.

Can I ask why you're feeding the protexin? Has he had gut issues? If so hay would be better than haylege as its less acidic on the gut.

Key thing with feeds is to keep it simple and read your labels. Sugar and Starch should be 5% of lower - not sure what equibeat is!

We were rec' the protexin by our vet after he had impaction colic last xmas...it was caused by lack of water intake. He is a ex racer that cribs when stabled hence why we dont stable anymore...he is far happier out even in this horrible weather. We probably could ditch the protexin but for my peace of mind i prefer to keep him on it and it dosent do him any harm. The haylage we get is not like normal...it is far more like hay, just cut a couple of days earlier if that makes sense!
The equibeet is a longer soak time than speedibeet but is pretty much exactly the same...I checked this before I ordered it as I know the sugar content is vital.

Equibeet is 5% same as the other unmolassed sugarbeets but for some reason mine decided it was different in some way.

Protexin has brewers yeast and a prebiotic. When I had problems getting hold of brewer's yeast Frankie went footy and was back to the normal when I started again. There's alot of us feeding brewer's yeast or yeasacc and finding it helpful.

Not sure without checking but pro hoof may contain yeasacc

I have fed both haylage and hay and didn't find any difference but when I did feed haylage it was meadow or timothy not rye grass.

Your very welcome...I had never heard of it until my vet rec' it but Ive spoke to quite a few feed experts and they all think it is a great product.

I am four months into bf a cob not tb, just to say my farrier who is a very pro bf trimmers as well, recommends protexin and I must say it has made a huge difference to my boys poos, they are now perfectly formed, he also recommends it as a matter of course when you worm them.

I get slightly poo obsessed and am always quite proud of my boys healthy droppings...have been known to pick them up and have a good look in front of rather horrified people, sometimes for added effect I will squeeze to see how moist they are and then casually offer to make a cup of tea with poo dribble running through my fingers
