Anyone got a headshaker?

Hey, ebs has never done this before but now has started to always shake her head around and its really annoying when your trying to ride.. so just wondered what you have tried to try stop it and what works best for you?

One of my ponies was a headshaker. A nose net worked wonders for him.

If it's a recent thing for ebs could it be teeth? have they been checked recently?

Is the headshaking only when ridden or is in the field as well - and does it appear to be an involuntary action or could it be just a behaviour issue?

Do you have oil seed rape near you? This can cause headshaking in some horse and certainly affects me, my allergies are really aggrevaited by it.

yeah ony when ridden, yeah we have quite alot of it x

If it is a recent thing, may be worth getting a vet to check teeth and give her a once over, just to be on the safe side. My pony started headshaking out of the blue, and 3 weeks later we found him dead in the field. Not sure if the headshaking was any indicator of what actually killed him (the post mortum was inconclusive), but possibly worth getting the vet just to have a look. Don't want to scare you, but that is my experiance of sudden onset headshaking!

Gosh im sorry for your lost :O
its not like lots.. its every so often like she will shake about 3 times in my whole ride so i wouldt say its serious shaking and i had denist out a few weeks ago? x
