I am unable to ride my horse at present, so was wondering if anyone was willing to lend me a horse for a few riding lessons with my coach. Your horse would be receiving some excellent schooling, problem horses are welcome!! (just be honest!) and I would of course be more than happy to attend to the horse before and after....

I know it's cheeky, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask as it just may suit somebody who is at work all day or isn't able to school their horse as often as they'd like etc.

My riding coach is based in Buxton Derbyshire(she's fantastic - I will give her website details to anyone interested) and I am nr to J29 of the M1 (other side of Derbyshire), so any location somewhere between the two would be ideal...
The horse needs to be at least 15.2 as I am quite tall, I am happy to be vetted

and come insured.

i'd lend you mine, but he's lame

(plus we're a bit far a way) but it shouldn't be too hard for you to find something, i know i'd jump at the chance for someone to school my naughty pony under the supervision of a good instructor

Well, that's encouraging that you would be willing!

Btw, I've got a soft spot for good photography, I love the photos on your homepage... particularly 'Bliss' 'Peeking' and the 'Drop fence' ones.

Merrigan Burton... I am itching for lessons but I can't use my horse in winter because there aren't the facilities where he is kept at the moment, a trailer/lorry is on the wish list so i can take him places, but in the meantime...

I'm sorry if I gave you impression I had a horse you could ride I haven't - mine's retired. Just wondered if I knew your instructor. Does she not know anyone who would let you have lessons on their horse? If she's good maybe one of her clients would oblige? Hope you get sorted. I'm sure there are lots of people who would like some help. In the meantime, I'll ask a few people.

No, not at all! you didn't mention a horse so I didn't assume that!
Merrigan knows my situation, and has been as helpful as she can be.
Thanks for your offer of asking around.

Hmm, shame you're in derbyshire (i'm in Leeds) as have a horse (my sisters cos she's in Oz) who needs some schooling and, as I am at work all day during the week and don't have facilities to ride after work he's only getting out at weekends. My mum can ride mine during the week but my sister's is younger and greener and needs to start back doing work again as hasn't been out competing either as my wagon's broken!

I'm amazed at the response to this post, I've had so many pm's from people willing to let me use their horse, unfortunately all have been a bit too far away to be viable for me...

But I'm thinking we could do with a sticky of horses needing riding/schooling/training and of riders available etc..
it would benefit both parties with no cost involved.

Anyone think this would be useful?
Sorry if this idea has already been done
