My cob originally came from Lynn Russell, he's a fantastic character although a real devil when he wants to be!
I have seen several others she has advertised over the last couple of years and they seem to be a similar stamp. I would love to hear from anyone who has bought from her, how they are doing, what they do with theirs etc. Also I would like to try and find out what his breeding/ background is I don't even know what part of Ireland he came from, just Ireland! He's not what you'd call show standard, but he's my boy and I love him to bits!

I suppose I could write to her but I assume she is pretty busy so wouldn't have time to write back to a 2nd owner of one of her imports!

She is very very good ,I have a friend who is a show judge and she thinks Lynn Russell is fantastic and i agree !

I do!!, the lil grey in my sig came from her 6 years ago, i love him to pices, he is my horse of a lifetime, i have done a bit of everything with him, but he is just enjoying a slighly less stressful life now, hacking and some smaller show's as he's got a bit of sidebone and a bit of the dreaded arthritis, from stamping his legs as he get's bad might's most of the year, it doesn't matter how we treat them they always come back!, bur yes i liked her then and i like the horses she advertis's now, and i would go back to her, some people like her sone don't!!

Just be very, very ,very careful. She sells some good ones, but def some not so good. If you get a 'not so good' one dont expect a refund. PM me if you want more details

Yep my boy came from Lyn Russel. He sounds like yours! He is the perfect confidence giver/all rounder, but has what we call 'cob moments'!

My friend has one, a lovely black gelding, he must be about 8 now, he isnt show quality but got a huge jump and he did play her up a bit at first but she said she wouldnt part with him because he is safe to hack out now they have got used to each other. He is a nice horse about 15hh and he has won a couple of dressage competitions as well.

I am not sure what part of Ireland Lynn gets her cobs from but the majority of horses and ponies from Irish stock seem to be good at what they do.

Even though I have never bought from Lyn Russell I would definately recommend her as her reputation speaks for itself.

Good luck.

PM me as there's someone at my yard thinking of getting one from her as she likes my horse.
I must say I haven't had any real probs with mine apart from him being 6 and bolshy! His previous owner bought him from LR not me.

For all his faults he really is great but must admit I sometimes have a love hate relationship with him, when he is good he is fantastic and I love him to bits, but when he's naughty I hate him with a passion! Everything he does when he is naughty is 'BIG' if you know what I mean and he does go into La La land so I might as well not be there sometimes! You know lights are on no one's home thing! I am learning though that this can be a cob trait!!

JoBo used to have a cob she bought from LR called Benson, he was a right sweetie and fun to ride but rather green from what i remember. This is him:

Yes we had a Lynn Russel Cob about 10 years ago. He was absolutely stunning and a saint, unfortuately I got into boys and clubbing (I was 17) so he was sold as mum got fed up with looking after him.
Not the best but only one I have on my computer:

I would buy another Lynn R Cob if they weren’t so expensive!

Ohhh mine isn't what you'd call perfect confidence giver, just would describe him as not a novice ride!!

He is bay with long white stockings and a white blaze i had a pic of him on my sig but somehow deleted it when I wanted to put a new one on and haven't been able to get another one on here??? Anyway Lynn Russell has had a few advertised with similar colouring and I thought maybe they are from the same place?

When I can get a pic on here again I will do a 'guess the breed' for everyone and maybe I will get a bit closer! His previous owner thought he was crossed with a Clydesdale or had Clydesdale in him! He doesn't grow feathers although his legs look a bit thick at the back if I don't trim him up, he doesn't really grow a winter coat either, I rug him up the same time as other people do their horses and they are amazed that he still has a fine, shiney summer looking coat!!

Glad you like your one though! What's his name?

YES THAT'S IT!!! He looks like your one!!

I think they must come from the same place!! Would love to find out more, he always gets comments when we go out as he has real 'presence'! Although he can be a pain at times he's great when we go down the high street as apart from people thinking he's a police horse, we get grannies and little kids coming up to stroke him and he completely and totally loves the attention!! He flicks his toes out when he is showing off too walking down the road! Has a MASSIVE spook and buck though!
