Well I bought one ages ago for my chestnut mare who was at the time not in work. It turned out her problems were much worse than thought at the time and she has not come back to work so the breastplate didn't get used.

Anyway, I've bought another horse who at 15.2ish is a smaller horse but also is a full size in bridles. The breastplate fits nicely until you do up the straps that fasten it to the saddle and then it strangles her! With the straps undone and the strap over the withers resting where it should it is a perfect slackness around her neck, its just that the straps to the saddle are ludicrously short. I compared them with the straps on an old Sabre Hunter Breastplate and they're about 8 inches shorter.

The company says they're supposed to be short etc but I disagree at the mo and still think mine might be faulty. So, if anyone has one of these breastplates in a full size, could you do me a HUGE favour and measure one of the straps that connects the breastplate to the D-rings of the saddle.

I found the sizing a bit tricky if it is. Though this is a full i think and she is a normally a 'cob' size horse. I now also put a sheepskin cover on and it is perfect sizing on the loosest hole

. Will find a tape measure tomorrow and double check it is a full size.
hope it helps

Oh thankyou. No, sorry it wouldn't be that one. It's the shape of a leather hunter breastplate except instead of adjustable leather running from the ring in the centre of the chest up to the short strap across the withers there is a wide strip of brown/black elastic.
