does anyone have a 7.5 ton volvo flc horsebox, are they reliable, economical etc, parts availability, handling. thanks

When I was looking for a horsebox I saw a lovely volvo 7.5 ton & asked the same question as yourself. A friend of mine works for Volvo & is a service manager & basically he said don't touch it with a barge pole. He went on to say everytime one comes in for plating & servicing there is a list a yard long of what needs doing. He added that Volvo have never made a good 7.5 ton lorry but the big HGVs are really good. I decided not to bother following that conversation. He did however recommend Daf & Iveco 7.5 ton lorries as they are reliable, parts are cheaper than Volvo, Merc & Man & there are plenty available to chose from.

Totally agree, it was Volvo's attempt at the 7.5 tonne market and didn't really work.
