Starting to feel a bit worried.

Grass is growing on the winter paddock but still absolutely zilch in the summer paddocks. The problem is that any new growth is being submerged under standing water, turning brown and dying. I know we needed rain but this is relentless.

Hay supplies here are close to running out. In desperation I've put the ponies on to a section of the winter paddock which will affect how much grass I have over the winter (it's usually grazed as foggage).

Long range forecast is more of the same in June, and the summer is likely to be wet and cool.

The local hayfields all look bare too. My neighbour still hasn't been able to let his cows out yet.

Desperately need some warm sunshine!

Well this morning she turned down polos in favour of grass so that tells me there's plenty and lots of sugar in it, I seem to be the only one there worried about that too.

very little grass here and rain is relentless. Horses off fields part of the time because of the damage they will do. I have been feeding 3 bales a day.

ours are still galloping full tilt for their meagre feeds so not much is happening the rested reseeded grass is green and approximately 0.5 of an inch high. So yes we still need warmth and rain to get it going. The fields waiting to be sprayed the ragwort stands head and shoulders above the grass but it has been too cold to spray too

We had a really dry April here, but it has been raining constantly now since beginning of May. We are swimming in grass. Having to bring mine in every day as they are starting to look a bit porky. I really feel for all of you that are struggling.

There’s loads of grass in my rested bit, i can almost watch it grow! I’m looking forward to starting to strip graze it as it’ll mean less hay. The round bales i’ve had lately are quite dusty as my supplier is coming to the end. i’m extremely grateful that they are saving what they have for regulars though as everyone else seems to be running out. Not having to feed so much hay is definitely something to look forward to.

It will be fine. It always is. We all panic and it's always okay.
Last year, in common with with many others, our hay yield was 25% down.

So lots of people had less hay going into winter, and now suppliers are running out/have alrady run out.

It's not always OK.

We are getting rain most days at the moment. The grass is very green and the boys are happy out with their heads down. This time last year it was like a desert, no grass growing for hay or anything. Least this year is better in that respect!!

We've not had any rain really until the last few days. The grass has greened up well but not really grown as its been so cold.

I agree. We all hoped last year was an aberration but this weather, and the problems that come with it, are becoming much more the norm now I think.

We’ve got perfect grass growing weather and it’s really shot up. Everything is suddenly very green and lots of grass growth. I feel for those of you still struggling

In just a few days the diet paddock has gone from hardly any grass to looking very green and the grass really starting to come through. Ground still very hard though.

The non diet paddocks are looking very lush.
