Anyone got Barnes Buckles?

I have some but no way am I parting with them- never ride without them!! I do however know a friend who did have some for sale- I'll see if she's still got them ;)
 
Gosh, I remember buying some years ago now, but have no idea where they might be. If I do find them in the depths of my tack-room, I'll PM you.

They were all the rage at one time: the "must have" safety item - so what on earth happened? One minute they were flavour of the month and receiving rave reveiws, the next minute......... zilch.

Don't understand it.
 
I've got two pairs and wouldn't ride without them. Took ages to find the second pairs, got them off eBay in the end. Mr Barnes who made them died and no more we're ever made sadly.
 
i know, i love mine, wont ride without them. There is a real market opportunity for someone to make these again. I'll keep an eye on ebay as swapping stirrups form one saddle to the other is about to become more of a faf as new saddle will be havana.
 
Sorry no help but I have a pair and it's the one thing I would never ride without. They are absolutely fantastic and I can't believe more XC riders (or riders in general) don't have them.
 
Can anyone either lend me one (not that I'm expecting anyone to offer!) or take some pics and measurements? I have an idea, but without seeing one close up I can't take it further.
 
looking at previous auctions they have sold for no more than £40.. so will be interesting to see if that set sell, i think the same person has them on preloved for £100:eek:
 
What?! I can't believe anyone would START them at that price...however I shall be watching with interest to see if they sell- I may re-think keeping mine if they go for enough! LOL!

Not prepared to lend you one- not that I don't trust you, just I don't ride without them- but will take various photos from various angles if it will help?
