Anyone got/used a WATERBOY HORSEWASH? {worth £395?}

I have a 'moby' which does the same job but is much cheaper..worth a look at. They use them for washing off mountain bikes etc...

I have found it great.. Also very useful in the winter as I don't have hot water outside so boil a kettle add cold and use this ...

Yes we have one they are fab and cool your horse down really quick, the battery lasts forever too really worth it and i would never go back to bucket and sponge again. Did not pay that much though got ours from the stand at Aske for i am sure £250 suppose to be 300. Will ask boss tomorrow and find out its the big one too.

Do you find you run out of water with it? how often after a XC run do you have to refill while you wash off one horse?

Much cheaper aren't they!

They do look superb. And they're shaped to fit perfectly in the front of a trailer. Very clever. Had a demo of one at Gatcombe last summer, they're surprisingly powerful and can't remember what he quoted re how long the water lasts but remember being very impressed and calculating that I wouldn't have to fill it up for every trip. Also be useful for hosing the trailer out afterwards!

The Waterboy is only (only!!) £325 on their website, and has 100psi

The Mobi you can get from about £80 and has a variable PSI up to 130 - so more powerful

Or you could have a 12v Laser pressure washer with 116PSI with what looks like it has a seperate tank so you could use it with a bigger bucket - £50.

Probably cheaper options out there too

They had the waterboys (filled with ice water, so nice and cold as I found out by getting more soaked than the horse :cool:) at Hartpury, but the big disadvantage we found was that, because they're so big and heavy, you can't walk and wash the horse at the same time which isn't ideal. Plus if horse is neurotic at the finish and will not ever stand still for more than two seconds you can't get it washed and cooled down, whereas at least with a bucket you could run about after it...
