I just wondered if anyone had feedback they could give me on the above? I would like a lesson with someone like that with one of my horses who is very willing but quite green still. The Lucinda Green clinics are quite a long way from me or on days when i am doing other things.
If anyone has had a lesson with Austin Oconnor or Nick Gauntlett, can you tell me what it was like and how ferocious they were

PM me if you would rather.
Thanks

My friend was a WP for NG and still goes back for lessons occassionally as she found him very helpful for jumping. He is all accredited now with BE so I imagine he has done a fair bit of teaching.
I love the way Austin O Connor rides especially xc. I watched him take a really green horse round Bricky and he rode it beautifully giving it a lot of confidence. His flatwork is not very hot though! Have no idea what he is like as a teacher.

I have lessons with Nick Gauntlett and find him really good - particularly with jumping, he isn't one of those that shouts at you, but does encourage you to push yourself.

I have had a lot of sessions with Austin although a fair few years ago when he was still based with the Wiegersma's. I found him brillant quickly assessing the horses problems and a wide variety of helpful exercises. Good sense of humour I really rate him.

I used to know Austin quite well when he was still in Ireland. He's a fine horseman with a good sense of humour. I wouldn't call him ferocious in any way at all LOL!!!

and actually surprised gauntlett can tear himself away from facebook long enough to teach but he is quite efficient and also a BHSI (reg) as well as an accredited trainer so you get all the insurance benifits if it all goes horribly wrong. Only heard good things about Austin.
