I have been Riding my girl in a NS pelham for a few weeks, Took her out hunting and got back to the lorry to discover shanks of bit had completely bent and started to come away from mouthpiece!! Really thankfull I finished up when i did as dont like to think what would have happened if it had broken

Just really wondering if anyone else has had problems with theese bits? Have emailed the shop i bought it from and am awaiting a reply.

I had one that looked a little odd - some silver coloured stuff on the mouthpeice, I sent it back, and NS replaced it with no quibbles. Turns out it wasn't anything that would have failed, but they still sent me a new one.

Have heard a few cases of this. Think there was a faulty run of them. The same thing happened to a mate of mine, and there was also a thread on here recently with the same thing!

yes my Warmblood Weymouth shank snapped off during a lesson...trainer was riding him and it cut the horse mouth as well as made him a bit wary for few days...contacted them and they did replace ASAP...I lost faith in them though and sold the new one on Ebay and swapped to Sprenger!!!

I've also had a bit ring shear about 2 years ago on one but NS did replace it without any problems and the replacement one has been fine.

I always thought NS were great but this thread has made me very wary now. I think I shall be saving the extra pennies for Sprenger next time... :-/

Mine's been perfect for at least since I've had Jack (1 and a half years now), don't know when his old owner got it in the first place though, but it's still a brilliant bit.

Must have been a faulty batch of bits perhaps?

Hope it doesn't happen to mum's NS bit that we bought recently. Can't use it yet and the big wimp of a TB finds the mouthpiece too thin  He's gotta stay in a training bit for a little bit longer.
