My Dad's had it done in both knees. He's had several cartilage and ligament injuries over the years due to rugby and has arthritis in both. He had arthroscopy about 10 years ago to remove some floating cartilage and bone chips. He was told then he'd need a full replacement in one within 3-4 years and in the other within about 6. He had very little trouble from either for a good 7-8 years but is has been having niggles again for the last couple of years. He said it's one of the best things he's ever done.
