As title really...
There’s this really nice rising 4yo unbacked, imported straight from the breeder, had only lived out until a couple weeks ago. I’m very interested in him, he would be a competition horse. Anyway, I would get a 5 stage vetting on any horse I get, and I know x-rays are very common to get done, but haven’t heard of many people who get ultrasounds of the tendons & ligaments etc. I was wondering what the price of that would be?
I’m quite a paranoid person, after our boy had tendon and degenerative ligament damage, it’s made me superrrr paranoid about every horses ligaments/tendons.
I would be thinking of getting the 5 stage, blood test, x-rays & ultrasounds. What do you think the price of that would be? (I know it varys depending on vets etc.)
I understand some might think it’s ott to waste that much money for a horse that might not pass, and it doesn’t determine that it won’t get problems in the future, but I think it would be mainly for my peace of mind.
Anyone?
Thanks :)

Yes - but not routinely and not on young ones.
I had my dressage mares high hind suspensories scanned before I bought her.
We also scanned a 7yo this autumn as the vet had a niggly feeling about it (with good reason it turned out!)
