Theres a jacket i love and its only £40 (sale price) thing is the sleeves measure 17" and i really need an 18.5 - 19" sleeve. Has anyone had a jacket altered to fit longer in the sleeves? am thinking the material on the inner side of the cuffs if there was enough? (bit like a hem on trousers)
Do you think this would be possible or is it a crazy idea and not the done thing?!?!! :o:o:o

All jackets tend to be a 17" sleeve.
Apart from paying a small fortune there seems to be very limited choice :(

I just want a nice mustard tweed with a navy collar

I have the same long arm problem, unfortunately there is seldom enough material to do a lengthening of the sleeve these days as manufacturing processes scrimp on every last millimetre of fabric! Still, if there is more than say an inch on the hem (ask whoever is selling it to look or send a picture) then it could be done a tiny bit! It might mess up the lining though.

I had a vintage wool coat that I put contrasting cuffs on to lengthen the arms once, it had a hood so I lined the hood in the same fabric as the cuffs..

I'm curious to see this jacket :-)

Will email the seller see if there is enough material!

The only other place is the second hand tack shop online, they seem to have alot of preloved stuff, theres a tweed with 19.5" sleeves! problem is its a 14 so would be too big :( there all different sizes and it seems the longer the sleeve the bigger the jacket!

Its nothing special (one am looking at) its just a sherwood tweed with a mustard background and a blue check with a navy collar. Thought it would match my black D nicely aswell as my skewbald cob :)
