Anyone have a black country saddle?

Sadly pony outgrew it but I had the close contact XC one - it was lovely and comfortable, was 2nd hand when got it so was worn in but was in lovely condition and when I traded it in for the new (2nd hand Albion) on I got my money back, so held value well over the 2 years I had it!

I had a Black Country GP and LOVED it!
Good quality smart saddles and very comfortable!

have only ridden in the close contact jump - don't like it, and don't rate it - find it uncomfortable and doesn't really give a close feel. Maybe I am just a funny shape though!

I love them, I've had a dressage one and also a GPX which is forward cut GP which was very comfortable (its now sitting in my garage wanting a new home......!!!!).
High recommend them!!!

I ride sometimes in a GP or Close Contact one ... i personally don't like them, the Close Contact is much comfier than the GP though, as RachFerd said - i don't find it gives a 'close' feel. I feel very perched on the GP too, opposed to sitting in the saddle. That is just me though... there are obviously fans out there so they must suit some people!

I love my XC one (venici jump?). It's a monoflap job and the old style one. The newer designs look much more modern but I found this less than half price as it had been clogging up someone's stockroom for a while, otherwise I could never have afforded one. If I did change I'd buy one of the newer models as they look a bit more forward in the flaps (veeeeery long legs!) aand flatter in the seat. Other than that I love it. You don't see many about though. I've dealt with the company a couple of times (they made me the softest short girth I've ever seen to match it) and they've been very helpful.

I also think they're better for a horses back than some of the othe close contact saddles I won't care to mention!

I have two! A GPD (their version of the VSD) and a Show saddle which they meade to my specifications.
Both are fabulous, fit brilliantly and look as good as new.
Definitely recommend!

I have had a GP one for over ten years for one of my horses (bought and fitted for her from new). I have spent many days hunting in it and also done a couple of fun team chases in it. I really like it.

I bought a second hand GP earlier this year - it was the only second hand one I could find that would fit my high-withered trakehner.
I find it very comfy and it looks very smart - it also puts me in a much better position than my old thorogood.
