Some of you know I do some charity work, and walk when I can ,for ManyTears rescue in Carmarthen, West Wales.

Yesterday my OH and I spent the day there, walking some rescues, as always they were wonderful, kind gentle dogs - but one struck a chord with me and I haven't been able to stop thinking about her since, so I thought I would post on here to see if anyone could have a home for little Mildrew..

Mildrew is a three year old small (very small) springer bitch. She is the MOST adorable little thing I have ever seen, but she is terrified. For the first ten minutes she walked belly to the floor and cowered in the back of her pen. We took time to stop with her and pat and stroke her, which she adored, and she rested her head on our knees - so keen to have affection and have someone to look after her. Her coat is like SILK, she is gentle and kind with other dogs and just desperately needs someone to love her and bring her out of her shell - Im convinced it wont take long.

Anyway, please if you think you can help AT ALL, take a look at her , she is a few dogs down the page, on the 'dogs needing a home' page.

Thanks Guys

She looks a poppet. We are looking for a dog but they must be 100% with children - I have a 4 year old and a 10 year old. Has she been with any children do you know? On the downside we are a long way from South Wales (Cambridgeshire). Do you have home checkers come out this far?

Many Tears has home checkers for everywhere I believe. Many Tears have no history on her, so I dont know if she has been around kids, best bet would be to give Sylvia a call, she is very dog savvy and Im sure she will know a lot more than I do, thanks for the interest though both.
Over the coming weeks Im sure she will be tested with children, as she has only been with the rescue one day they haven't really had time to see what she's like, she might even come out of her shell soon - and then hopefully lots more people will be interested in her.
Thanks again

WRB - your OP described Tots when I got her - she is small, silky and was utterly TERRIFIED of everything

She is so much better now but will still wet herself if she gets scared, poor love. If Mildrew hadn't been being home checked I would have snapped her up.
